ABOUT
PONY PARTNERSHIPS CIC
Equine-centred. Trauma-informed. Neurodivergent-led and affirming.
Pony Partnerships CIC is a UK-based Community Interest Company delivering specialist
Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, Equine Facilitated Learning, Alternative Provision, Clinical
Supervision and professional training and CPD in Derbyshire, UK
We are a neurodivergent-led organisation, shaped by both professional expertise and lived
experience. This informs every aspect of our practice: from how we design environments, to
how we understand communication, autonomy and relational safety.
We work with children, young people, adults and families, particularly those who may feel
overwhelmed, marginalised, or misunderstood in traditional systems. Our outdoor, relational
model prioritises safety, authenticity and choice. Individuals are not required to mask,
suppress natural responses, or conform to neurotypical expectations. Instead, we focus on
co-regulation, self-understanding and adapting environments to meet the individual, not the
other way around.
OUR EQUINE-CENTRED APPROACH
We recognise our equine team as sentient beings with individual preferences,
communication styles and fluctuating needs. All interaction is consent-based and force-free,
grounded in positive reinforcement and aligned with compassionate equitation principles and
The HERD Institute.
Horses are never used as therapeutic tools. They are
respected partners within a clinically held framework
where the therapist or facilitator maintains responsibility for ethical practice and safety. If an
approach does not support both human and equine wellbeing, it is not pursued.
